When Push Comes to Shove...

May 21st, 2025: First thing is first, let's review my email inbox for that day—only sharing the most disturbing or informative ones.
Solipsism? Nah, narcissism.
He was clearly monitoring my socials. As I mentioned in Part Ten, I was calling out the men in my life (online and offline) left and right. Remember, I am deathly ill on this day, and this was only day 3 on antibiotics (with 7 or 8 more days to go). I rarely left my couch for 4+ days—I don't know how I would have gotten through it without my amazing massage mat/heating pad!
I wasn't entirely sure what he was talking about here, at the time. But, thanks to this email, I found and opened Pandora's Box. I had no idea that he was tagging me in a bunch of posts (publicly, might I add) on X. My profile still exists, but it's set to private, and I wasn't checking it anymore (since migrating over to Bluesky). Consider this a HUGE foreshadowing.
He created a new Bluesky alt:
That evening, in spite of disabling push notifications for both of these apps (Facebook and Snapchat), another surge of calls, requests, and messages began pouring in.
We'll open up that "You wanna video chat?" message here in a minute:
As I was going through some of these messages, a theme emerged. Many of the messages I was receiving resembled this one:
These men were sending me naked pictures of other women (some real, some AI generated) and were hounding me for photos. All of the messages I was getting that night were similarly natured. There I am, barely holding it together, facing an overwhelming deluge of foul, perverse (yet unfortunately common) entitled messages. These are the type of men who wouldn't actually care if I had a pulse, were they to stumble upon my body.
Okay, so back to the messages that Mark was sending me. This wasn't someone I knew, just one of the men that came in with the tide. Everything was fine until he sent me that, "You wanna video chat?" message after there had been radio silence on my end (because I was too busy battling the infection, DUH). Why the hell would you think that I'd wanna video chat after I'd just told you that, "I nearly died from this infection"?! (Going back over these messages has my blood boiling.)
Dude couldn't read the room. That 'thumbs down' was really a middle finger, a peace sign, a hand waving goodbye.
He doesn't view me as an actual human being. He just wants to regain access. Bye Felicia!
Is the irony clear now? Full of disgust, I would take decisive action in the subsequent days and purge my Facebook following. It was an extreme response to the messages I was receiving that night, but I knew I needed to contain the circus and protect my mental health.
